Kick off Prayer: Friday August 7th at 7pm
Friday Night Fire August 28th at 7pm
At Faith Christian Center, January and August are more than just months on the calendar—they’re opportunities for transformation. During these 21 days of prayer and fasting, we stand together as a church family to prioritize God, seek His vision for our lives, and start fresh with renewed purpose and direction.
This isn’t just a ritual—it’s a chance to realign our hearts and make room for what truly matters. Imagine what could happen if you set aside this focused time with God. The peace, clarity, and breakthroughs you’ve been seeking might be closer than you think.
WE ARE RENEWING AUGUST.

WHY PRAYER & FASTING?
In a world that pulls us in a thousand directions, fasting gives us the strength to say “no” to distractions and “yes” to Jesus. It’s a time to pause, refocus, and hear the gentle whisper of His voice amidst the noise of daily life.
From the demands of work and school to the endless notifications on our phones, life can feel overwhelming. But when we carve out intentional time for prayer and fasting, we create space for God to move powerfully in us and through us.

Prayer & Fasting FAQs
What is fasting, and why is it important?
Fasting is the act of giving up something, such as food or other distractions, to focus on prayer, worship, and seeking God’s presence. It helps us prioritize God, align our hearts with His will, and create space for spiritual breakthroughs.
Do I have to give up food completely to participate?
No, there are many ways to fast. You can choose a full fast (liquids only), a partial fast (e.g., fasting from sunrise to sunset), a Daniel fast (plant-based eating), or even a media/soul fast (abstaining from distractions like social media or TV). Pick a method that works for your health, lifestyle, and spiritual goals.
How do I decided what type of fast to do?
Pray about it! Ask God to guide you in choosing a fast that will help you grow spiritually while honoring your physical needs. Consider your health, responsibilities, and experience with fasting.
What should I focus on during my fast?
The purpose of fasting is to draw closer to God. Spend time praying, reading scripture, journaling, and worshiping. Use the daily prayer guide provided by the church to help you stay focused on specific themes each day.
Can I fast if I have health conditions?
Yes, but modify your fast to suit your needs. For example, you might choose a Daniel fast or a media/soul fast instead of a food-based fast. Always consult your doctor before making significant changes to your diet.
What if I break my fast or struggle to stay committed?
Fasting is not about perfection—it’s about seeking God. If you stumble, don’t feel guilty. Pray, recommit, and continue. God values your heart and your effort.
Can children and teenagers participate?
Yes! Younger participants can join by giving up something meaningful, like sweets, snacks, or screen time. Encourage them to spend time praying or reading the Bible during the fast.
What if I don't feel anything during the fast?
Sometimes spiritual growth happens in ways we can’t see immediately. Trust that God is working in your heart and circumstances, even if you don’t feel it right away. Stay committed and keep seeking Him.
How long should I pray each day during the fast?
Our church-wide fast is August 8–28. Prayerfully choose the type and daily length of fast that works for you. You can also join us for teachings Wednesdays at 7 PM, prayer on Thursdays at 7 PM and midnight, and Fridays at 7 PM, along with personal prayer each day.
What happens after the fast is over?
The end of the fast is just the beginning! Reflect on what God has taught you and continue the spiritual practices you developed, such as daily prayer, scripture reading, and quiet time with God.
